<![CDATA[Bill O'Reilly Said What??]]>Thu, 28 Mar 2013 00:55:59 GMThttp://youandnoother.com/2/post/2013/03/bill-oreilly-said-what.htmlIt's intriguing when the likes of Bill O'Reilly feel the need to support a group he's disparaged for years. What does this say about how the tides are turning?

<![CDATA[In Hillary Clinton's Words:]]>Fri, 18 May 2012 13:53:42 GMThttp://youandnoother.com/2/post/2012/05/in-hillary-clintons-words.html"Gay people are born into and belong to every society in the world. They are all ages, all races, all faiths. They are doctors and teachers, farmers and bankers, soldiers and athletes. And whether we know it, or whether we acknowledge it, they are our family, our friends, and our neighbors. Being gay is not a Western invention. It is a human reality."

The quote above was posted on the Owl Report. They also said, "Respect is our mantra here at the Owl Report. Not easily achieved *or* maintained, but we thank you for celebrating this perspective. Or simply moving on, refraining from hateful rhetoric."

We second those wise words.

Can you imagine being caught in this situation and having no say in the matter(s)? All of us have the power to change this situation. Will you consider it?

<![CDATA[Marilyn Carlson Nelson Speaks]]>Mon, 06 Feb 2012 16:57:22 GMThttp://youandnoother.com/2/post/2012/02/marilyn-carlson-nelson-speaks.htmlMarilyn Carlson Nelson is Chairman of Carlson Companies, one of the largest privately held companies in the world. Forbes magazine has also regularly selected her as one of "the World's 100 Most Powerful Women." So when she wrote a Star Tribune commentary on the Minnesota constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage that will be on the 2012 ballot, her words were profound. Even though it is somewhat long, be sure to read the article to the end where she makes a startling revelation. We definitely need more leaders of her caliber, and with her sensitivity, to stand up and speak out.

<![CDATA[Sobering Article for Us All]]>Sat, 10 Dec 2011 16:23:02 GMThttp://youandnoother.com/2/post/2011/12/sobering-article-for-us-all.htmlHere is a New York Times article about a major web-based retailer. It has implications for all of us who are interested in preserving our future ability to buy from local merchants. And it's particularly alarming if we're not interested in seeing the publishing industry become an oligopoly (at best), or a monopoly (at worst). Very sobering . . .

<![CDATA[A Review by a 40's Male]]>Sun, 04 Dec 2011 18:25:45 GMThttp://youandnoother.com/2/post/2011/12/a-review-by-a-40s-male.html This was just received from a male reader:

"You and No Other - what a delightful read, a memoir from two individuals as they entered into a same-gender relationship together. I held my breath for them. I cried for them. I felt myself awakened to hear of their courage and love and learning. It’s a book about being true to the best of what can happen as human beings."

<![CDATA[StarTribune Marriage Amendment Article]]>Fri, 25 Nov 2011 18:21:31 GMThttp://youandnoother.com/2/post/2011/11/startribune-marriage-amendment-article.htmlThis article, written by a judge, is a very poignant plea for sane minds in those who'll be voting on Minnesota's marriage amendment in 2012. After presiding over a deathbed marriage of a man and woman, the judge meets a woman who would never be able to request a Minnesota judge to perform a deathbed marriage of her to her partner of 12 years, Jeanne. The judge then writes on, "Can't we get past the idea of what a married couple should look like?"
His article is so worth the read.

<![CDATA[New Reviews by Readers]]>Mon, 08 Aug 2011 13:01:09 GMThttp://youandnoother.com/2/post/2011/08/new-reviews-by-readers.htmlWe just received this comment from a reader:

"Just finished your book. I started it on my airplane (ride) to MN and could hardly put it down. It was so honest, so heartbreaking and so thought provoking I can't stop telling people about it. Thank you for such a wonderful gift. You certainly made a difference in my life and so many others."

And from another:

"Congratulations!! I'm 85% finished reading your book on my Kindle. Fascinating. Courageous. Amazing story. Well written. Thanks for sharing such intimacy with the "public." I've spent a good part of my life working with Women's Spirituality. My basic premise is that women need to find their story, articulate it, and be listened to. I, too, need to write that story. My best to both of you."

Our profound thanks to all of you readers. Your words are beautiful gifts to us.
